ZitatPUSCIFER'S NEW ALBUM, CONDITIONS OF MY PAROLE, AVAILABLE OCT. 18
"The Verde Valley is an intrinsic part of what Puscifer is. It’s equal parts Twilight Zone, Mayberry and Road Warrior. The ghosts and aliens, Republicans and Democrats, cowboys and artists living side by side with hostile creatures such as scorpions, spiders, rattlesnakes, javelina and hippies are just a few of the spicy ingredients that give Conditions of My Parole its unique flavor." - Maynard James Keenan
"Man Overboard," the first single from the album, will be available via iTunes and other digital service providers on July 19.
Conditions of My Parole was recorded in Jerome, Ariz. this spring with tracking done amidst the wine barrels from Keenan's Caduceus Cellars. The album was produced by Keenan, Mat Mitchell, and Josh Eustis. Contributing musicians for the new album include the aforementioned Keenan, Mitchell, and Eustis as well as Carina Round, Juliette Commagere, Matt McJunkins, Jeff Freidl, Gil and Rani Sharone, Jonny Polonsky, Tim Alexander, Devo Keenan, Alessandro Cortini, Sarah Jones, and Jon Theodore.
A North American tour kicks off in early November with more information to come. http://www.puscifer.com facebook.com/puscifermusic ( facebook.com/puscifermusic ) twitter.com/puscifer ( twitter.com/puscifer )
Zitat von Der Tool-Newsletter vom 26. MaiNo matter how many new TOOL tunes are currently complete, I will personally guarantee that the new CD will be released on MAY 22, 2012 (or MAY 15, 2012). And unlike that old f**k rattling the shingles with his cauliflower and mini-Cheddars flatulence, my calculation is not based on some preposterous coded Biblical numerology. Instead, it comes from a credible source who, himself, obtained the information via trance-contact (which was written down on a scratch pad) from an interplanetary avatar (and sector commander) named ZEMKLA JR. from the city of Farlon on the planet Selo (in the Bernard's Star System).
Thus having been contacted, SEMKLA JR. traveled to the earth in a vortex device (equipped with "anti-God controls") that he called "an extra Gamma-traversing spheroid" (whose sighting was officially listed by a general at Luke Air Force Base as "a supersonic flight of Canadian geese.") After first warning of the dangers of indole poisons (pork, spinach, bleached flour, etc.), and demonstrating the amazing power of a Temkla pencil, Zemkla (who resembled a "Missouri Mexican wearing what looked like an astral tennis outfit, and was accompanied by beautiful women who appeared like they just stepped out of a Greek painting"), revealed the all-important date, afterwards asking when the ToolArmy message boards would be back up? Go ahead and listen to the alzur agents if you want (wearing their black dunce caps), but I'll bet anyone a crystal glass of Plobium and 100 green trading disks that the date is correct. Feel free to spread the word anyway you want: Billboards, posters, digital bus displays, or smoke signal apps on your iPhone...
In fact, braving Maricopa Sheriff Joe Arpaio (who I'm sure would love to put any interplanetary avatar resembling a Missouri Mexican into a pink jumpsuit!), tomorrow I'm going to drive to the "BELL" portal in Sedona, Arizona with hopes of meeting ZEMKLA JR. for myself. I'm going to this extra trouble in order to double-check the calculation of the TOOL CD release date (but don't ask me what color his socks were, if a Javelina Decimator leaves a mess behind, or how many bolts are in the vortex device!). If, like Mr. Camping, I'm "just a little off", come MAY 23rd, I don't want to have to hole up in some Motel 6 with mobs of angry ToolArmy members banging on the door.
POST SCRIPT: In a possible tangential and/or MIB encounter, shortly after finishing the newsletter, while eating at a local TACO BELL, I noticed an elderly fellow with a strange flashlight stuffed into his back pocket STANDING IN LINE. When it was HIS TURN TO ORDER, he told the woman at the counter that he was going to go outside a smoke a cigarette. He then asked what would be the latest time that he could return and order a "delicious bean burrito?" After leaving to smoke the cigarette (I assume), he returned and ordered FOR HIMSELF two bean burritos - one with NO ONIONS, the other with EXTRA ONIONS. He then turned to the person standing behind him and asked if he was a Mexican American? The reason he wanted to know (so he said) was that he wanted to learn the correct way to say "Hola"... Honestly. For a minute I thought he was going to say, "I BE ZEMKLA JR..."

Was man davon hat?

ZitatThree quarters of the influential stoner rock group Kyuss have regrouped for a European tour under the name Kyuss Lives. The news was supposed to be officially announced this week, but has been leaked on the website of Amsterdam’s Paradiso club.
The Kyuss Lives band features original Kyuss members singer John Garcia, bassist Nick Oliveri and drummer Brant Bjork and will be joined by on guitar Bruno Fevery. Oliveri was an original member of the group, though he replaced by Scott Reeder when he left Kyuss shortly after 1992’s Blues for the Red Sun album.
The fourth member of Kyuss Josh Homme will not be joining the tour; as Reeder explained in 2008 when asked about the possibility of a Kyuss reformation “I think everyone but Josh would do it in a heartbeat. Back in the day we were always told, “You gotta strike while the iron’s hot,” and Josh’s is still red hot.”
The inventors of Desert Rock have grown in popularity and acclaim since the breaking up in 1995 leading to a best of compilation Muchas Gracias in 2000 and numerous offers to reform the band.
The reunion follows a tour by Garcia under the banner ‘Garcia plays Kyuss’, which saw Oliveri and Bjork joined Garcia onstage to perform Green Machine and Gardenia during the bands headlining appearance at France’s Hellfest in June this year.
Before that show Garcia had told Blabbermouth that he wanted to tour Kyuss material “for the fans. Both for the ones that have seen Kyuss live back in the days, and especially for the ones who haven’t had that chance. This could be as close as they could get to the real thing.”

Mike Portnoy gab gestern folgendes in seinem Forum bekannt:
Zitat von Mike PortnoyI am about to write something I never imagined I'd ever write:
After 25 years, I have decided to leave Dream Theater....the band I founded, led and truly loved for a quarter of a century.
To many people this will come as a complete shock, and will also likely be misunderstood by some, but please believe me that it is not a hasty decision...it is something I have struggled with for the last year or so....
After having had such amazing experiences playing with Hail, Transatlantic and Avenged Sevenfold this past year, I have sadly come to the conclusion that I have recently had more fun and better personal relations with these other projects than I have for a while now in Dream Theater...
Please don't misinterpret me, I love the DT guys dearly and have a long history, friendship and bond that runs incredibly deep with them...it's just that I think we are in serious need of a little break...
Dream Theater was always my baby...and I nurtured that baby every single day and waking moment of my life since 1985...24/7, 365...never taking time off from DT's never-ending responsibilites (even when the band was "off" between cycles)...working overtime and way beyond the call of duty that most sane people ever would do for a band...
But I've come to the conclusion that the DT machine was starting to burn me out...and I really needed a break from the band in order to save my relationship with the other members and keep my DT spirit hungry and inspired.
We have been on an endless write/record/tour cycle for almost 20 years now (of which I have overseen EVERY aspect without a break) and while a few months apart from each other here & there over the years has been much needed and helpful, I honestly hoped the band could simply agree with me to taking a bit of a "hiatus" to recharge our batteries and "save me from ourselves"...
Sadly, in discussing this with the guys, they determined they do not share my feelings and have decided to continue without me rather than take a breather...I even offered to do some occasional work throughout 2011 against my initial wishes, but it was not to be...
While it truly hurts for me to even think of a Dream Theater without Mike Portnoy (hell, my father named the band!!), I do not want to stand in their way...so I have decided to sacrifice myself and simply leave the band so as to not hold them back against their wishes....
Strangely enough, I just read an interview that I recently did that asked me about the future of DT and I talked about "always following your heart and being true to yourself"...sadly I must say that at this particular moment, my heart is not with Dream Theater...and I would simply be "going through the motions", and would honestly NOT be true to myself if I stayed for the sake of obligation without taking the break I felt I needed.
I wish the guys the best and hope the music and legacy we created together is enjoyed by fans for decades to come...I am proud of every album we made, every song we wrote and every show we played....
I'm sorry to all the disappointed DT fans around the world...I really tried to salvage the situation and make it work...I honestly just wanted a break (not a split)...but happiness cannot be forced, it needs to come from within....
You DT fans are the greatest fans in the world and as you all know, I have always busted my ass for you guys and I hope that you will stay with me on my future musical journey, wherever it may lead me....(and as you all know my work ethic, there will surely be no shortage of future MP projects!)

01.30 Uhr Rockpalast QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE (Bizarre-Festival, Weeze, am 18.08.01)
August 2001.

Zitat von toolband.comBack stage after the final Nokia show, amid a flurry of activity (and not just gorging on king crab legs washed down with Stellas and Old Peculiar ale), I asked Justin if the band members were going to take a break from each other or get back to writing new material, which is what they were in the process of doing before the opportunity for a summer mini-tour presented itself. "No, we're going to get back to jamming and writing!" was his emphatic reply. When I asked Danny the same question minutes later, he, too, assured me that the plan was to continue the writing process.
