Distilled throughout are themes of machinery, repetition and clear, linear structures honed to the visual imagery of Fritz Lang’s classic expressionist science-fiction film ‘Metropolis’. Es erscheint bald ein neues Album von Cult Of Luna namens "Mariner", das zusammen mit Julie Christmas (Battle Of Mice, Made Out Of Babies) produziert wurde. Einen kleinen Vorgeschmack gibt es hier.
Instrumentell ist es mit das beste, was Cult Of Luna je hervorgebracht haben. Allein schon der reine COL-Track "Approaching Transition" klingt großartig und ist Beweis dafür, dass die Band es mehr mit klarem Gesang probieren könnte. Julie Christmas nervt hier und da schon sehr (auf dem spacigen "The Wreck Of S.S. Needle" quiekt sie z.T. wie eine Frau in den Wehen), auch wenn die Kollaboration der Atmosphäre gut getan zu haben scheint. Den letzten Track kann ich leider nicht bewerten, weil der Download ihn nicht hergibt.
uuuuh merci M., das hätte ich wohl verpennt! Find die Mischung verdammt gut aus dem klaren "Avril Lavigne"-Gesang und der brachialen Gewalt von Cult Of Luna!

Ahje ist ja peinlich.. Naja, und Avril Lavigne passt dann doch nicht so. Deine Beschreibung wohl eher Und auf den letzten Track bin ich auch noch gespannt.
Erstes Fazit: Klingt sehr angenehm in den Ohren. Der Sound wurde noch etwas weiter perfektioniert. Besonders die luftigen Passagen in Lights On The Hill, was für mich das Higlight des Albums darstellt, und The Fall sind besonders gelungen. Das lethargische We Feel The End passt da vielleicht nicht ganz rein. Bin aber insgesamt sehr zufrieden und die Spieldauer von 1:20h stimmt mich ebenso positiv.
Falls sich noch jemand in das Forum verirren sollte...die Band bringt nächstes Jahr ein neues Album heraus. Der erste Track wird in 4 Tagen vorgestellt. Ich finde dieses Premierenteasing bei Youtube echt abartig, aber vielleicht klingt ja der Song ganz gut.
